The Blizzards were just one of a flurry of Irish bands who made a dent in the UK music scene in 2005. It's been a good year for the Mullingar quintet; a top ten hit with their corking debut single, crowd-pleasing sets at the Oxegen and V festivals, and enough Hot Press column inches to paper the sitting room walls with. They may look like the type of boys you could bring home to your mammy; but don't be fooled, readers, underneath those sweet exteriors lie dirty pop rock tunes, with a smidgen of ska thrown in for good measure. A White Christmas comes early to Dublin this year as the Blizzards hurtle into town on Monday December 19th. Catch them in Whelan's, and for God's sake, wear something warm.
