but i heard it on spin 1038!!! (for any of you non-dublin people, spin is a load of pants-theres about twenty songs they just play over and over and over...its mailnly chart/hip-hop stuff.eg pussycat dolls)
but 'trouble' was played on their only good programme called 'the irish alternative' with eabha stack, its really good if you get a chance to listen.its normally on sunday mornings from 10.45 to 11.45 but the show was on this afternoon(paddys day)
i text in to say how beautiful bressie was and she agreed....she's obviously got good taste!
Trouble will be played alot on its own merit but its no harm for us to bang in a few requests to our fav stations and give them feedback when they do play Blizzards tunes. Will make for a better response on the release date.. ie record sales/turn out at the record stores and obviously the gigs.
I am sure the boys will be hoping for a no. 1 or top ten minimum in the irish charts but this can only be achieved through getting it out on the air waves as much a possible. A couple of platinums for the blizzards would be nice instead of the likes of those talentless media backed muppets westlife among others singing ****e like 'flying without wings' and other cack kareoke cover songs. .
I know I am the gaurdian angel and all but for feck sake its the like of that flying with out wings ****e that make no. 1 in this country so for the love of god go out an buy the blizzards single, tell your friends, bring them to the gigs. They'll be lovin your ass that you did.
Oh ye and I can't wait for the upcoming gigs. Keep the posts coming on the ol radio play etc and whatever else comes to mind!
Jaysus what about that rugby match on sat... was that the best ever or what? Shoutling like a lunatic woman in my sitting room on sat. Thank God Horgan is a tall lad. Lovin it!
I just heard Trouble on Spin 1038...its at number 20 in the Zoo Crew's Hot 30!!! This is a really well-listened show in Dublin so it'd be excellent if everyone could text in and raise it up in the charts!!!! Just text HOT followed by Trouble to 085 711 1038......it really is only the beginning, sniff sniff, i'm so proud!!!!
Also yes that was the most amazing match on Sat....i nearly wet myself waiting for the Video Ref on that Horgan try!!! Absolutely unbelieveable!!!!!
Don,t make any mistake about it folks as I am sure the lads themselves are only too aware, following their own release of "first girl" . Trouble is been played because Universal Music Ireland have made it so . The music business is contacts and conformity . Universal provide radio stations with star access to international artists when they are in Ireland , They also spend money on Advertising product etc . This is not going to be forgotten when playlists are being compiled . The lads are good but again as i am sure they are aware if they released Trouble on their own, it would not be getting the same spin. Don,t be foolish people Music is Music , Business is Business. And Radio is Business.
well dude. i agree with u in certain terms but i think u are forgetting that although first girl was released without a company it still got and still does get quite alot of radio play. record company or not 90% of royalties go out of the country every year. point im making, if the radio dont like it they wont play it. there are many bands in ireland who have been signed who get **** all play so being signed is not the be all and end all. the single has to be worked. just be happy for the bastards. its a fecking seriously catchey tune anyway you look.
anyway, as i said willy you got a point that radio is business but check it out so is writing savage tunes. 2 of them work hand in hand. i saw the lads play by mistake in donegal of all places and am now their biggest fan.
I don't wish you to think that I was being foolish or naieve in my last comments. Of course the reason why its being played and played alot is because of universal a) supplying it and b) promoting it. Believe me I have a fair idea how the ol music promotion and Pr thing works but feedback to these radio stations is vital. They want listner figures and demographics that will attract advertisers and keep their business rolling too. So if there listners are happy and loyal and appreciate what they are putting out so too are their potential advertisers becuase they have a bigger target audience. Just take a look at the JNLR listerner figures for the various radio stations each year. It can be a tight race ie between the likes of Tom Dunne/ Dave Fanning etc. But race for listener figures is also the race for advertising and thus their potential for revenue.
Down the line radio and their advertisers will be interested in the demographic and volume of Bliz supporters that are tuning in requesting songs etc. It is only at the beginning now but as momentum builds this will be the case. So there is method in my maddness asking all you guys to request etc.
All this being the case my point was for us to let the radio stations know that the blizzards have a sizeable preexisting fan base and that we love this music and we want to hear more of it on the radio. So all other that other hyperbole is well and good but the bottom line is that this music is great we want to hear this music and we want the blizzards to have a happy successful road ahead.
Well said Angel!!! Was thinking the exact same myself!!! Cant wait for the next gig either...driving to mullingar for that Saturday gig...should be a laugh!!!!
